Tolerance to irrigation water salinity in Physalis peruviana L. plants

چکیده

Abiotic factors, such as saline stress, can happen in agricultural areas and harm the metabolism of plants. Studies that seek to evaluate acting P. peruviana L. under stress conditions are still incipient. Therefore, objective was tolerance salinity plants different levels irrigation water. The work developed experimental farm Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, Campus Pombal, PB, from January March 2017. Four concentrations water were used (0.3; 1.2; 2.1; 3.0 dS m-1) with five repetitions. At 60 days after transplant, evaluated leaf area, intercellular CO2 concentration, stomatal conductance, transpiration, photosynthetic rate, intrinsic use efficiency, instantaneous carboxylation electrolyte extravasation, chlorophyll a, b carotenoids. results show up m-1 did not provide physiological damages until DAT, except for extravasation electrolytes a b, characterizing plant tolerant studied level.

A new withanolide glycoside from physalis peruviana

A new withanolide glycoside, 17beta-hydroxy-14, 20-epoxy-1-oxo-[22R]-3beta-[O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-witha-5, 24-dienolide (1), has been isolated from the whole plant of Physalis peruviana. Its identity was determined using a combination of spectroscopic data including 2D NMR techniques and chemical transformations.

Mechanisms of high salinity tolerance in plants.

Among abiotic stresses, high salinity stress is the most severe environmental stress, which impairs crop production on at least 20% of irrigated land worldwide. In response to high salinity stress, various genes get upregulated, the products of which are involved either directly or indirectly in plant protection. Some of the genes encoding osmolytes, ion channels, receptors, components of calci...

Renoprotective Effect of Egyptian Cape Gooseberry Fruit (Physalis peruviana L.) against Acute Renal Injury in Rats

This study aimed to evaluate the renoprotective effect of Physalis peruviana L. extract (PPE) on acute renal injury in rats. Adult male rats (n = 36) were divided into six groups that were fed with basal diet throughout the experiment (33 days). The first group was normal group, the second and the third groups were administered orally with 100 and 150 mg PPE/kg body weight (BW) respectively, th...

Growth stage sensitivity of wheat to irrigation water salinity

The effects of irrigation water salinity (12 dS m−), imposed at maximum tillering (35−40 days after sowing, DAS) or booting (50−60 DAS) or grain filling (75−85 DAS) stage of wheat, on growth and yield of the crop was demonstrated. The experiment comprised four treatments – I1: irrigation by fresh water (FW) at all three growth stages (control), I2: irrigation by saline water (SW) at maximum til...
